Unknown user

Someone I was messaging has now become an unknown user, does this mean they have deleted their account?

Sorry 2 hear that. Based from my experience, yes. If they only changed their name, the new name would reflect as the current.

I thought if a member deleted their account everything just went away. They don't show up in the Friends list. Any messages you have from them disappear. And any stories they've posted also go away. But I might be wrong about that.

Their forum posts still show up though, but as Unknown User like he says. And in my sad experience, stories are not deleted. Stories from my old account are still accessible if you have a link from back then.

Further observation from a friend who recently deleted their account... if you have stories in your favorites or the queue, they also disappear.

They won't appear in the Friends list but as I checked the Lushmail messages, if any were saved (starring the replies) , those remain but their name is replaced as Unknown User.

I'd forgotten about starring a message. You're right. I don't think I've ever starred a message.
