(Note: The title of this thread deliberately leaves two questions unanswered:

So, I finally got motivated to try blowing my own trumpet in this little trumpet-blowing section of the forums. The motivation was that I have a recent story sitting around in the Humo(u)r section and not getting much love. I'm beginning to get a suspicion that some people who visit this site may not be looking to laugh, but to do something else altogether?!?

I think it's a bit of a shame, since this particular story is probably the first thing I've published here that I think actually achieves what I set out to achieve (although that's partly because my sole ambition for this one was for it to be profoundly silly). i recall reading one of your earlier stories for a comp, and really enjoyed it. i'll have to read this one as well - i know humor is not always a popular section, but if done well (and i think you do) i really enjoy it.

Resurrecting this thread because the title amused me at the time, and because I need 69... votes [EDIT: of course, I meant views...] to get my first famous story.

And coincidentally, the title of this story (in context) also amused me, as did the one-liner. No idea if it amused anyone else, but if anyone's looking for some light reading over Easter and think that a tale of one young man and two young women deciding to go to a nude beach together (they also do some other things together, but I won't spoil the complex plot for anyone...) might fit the bill, then you might enjoy this one:
