In a quiet tower, high and cold,

Rapunzel dreamed of wings of gold.

Her hair fell long, her heart fell low,

While distant winds began to blow.

Tinkerbell, with fading light,

Would visit her in dead of night.

A glow against the stone and gloom,

A fleeting spark in endless bloom.

"Come with me," the fairy sighed,

But Rapunzel only cried.

"For though I long to touch the sky,

These walls won't let me say goodbye."

Tink's wings dimmed with every dawn,

For fairy magic can't stay long.

And though their hearts were tightly spun,

Love unraveled with the sun.

One night, Tinkerbell flew slow,

Her light too faint, her heart aglow.

She kissed the tears on Rapunzel's face,

Then vanished into empty space.

Now Rapunzel stares above,

Remembering a distant love.

Her tower echoes with the past,

Of fairy wings that couldn't last.
